Updates September 2020

U-shaped Balcony

The main hall in the new building has a U-shaped balcony which means we can seat 650 people without the people at the back being too far from the preacher. The balcony will have a glass balustrade so we’ll feel like one body even though we’re sitting on two levels.

In the photo, the silver scaffolding tower is where the stage will be & the blue crane tower goes through the space left for the rooflights. The ceiling isn’t curved – that’s just the impression created by the ‘fisheye’ photograph.

The new building has an impressive, double height entrance which will be glazed from floor to ceiling. A large cross made from girders salvaged from the old building will be suspended in the atrium. No one will be in doubt as to what the building is or where our focus lies.
